1. Introduction

These are Certified Fire Doors Terms & Conditions. They tell you:


  • The rules for using our services.
  • What you can expect from Certified Fire Doors.
  • Your rights and responsibilities.

When These Terms Apply

Please ensure you read these terms before using our services. By using our services, you are agreeing to these terms. You’re also agreeing to our Terms of Use, Privacy and Cookie policies.

The latest version always applies and we’ll usually only make updates when we offer a new service, change how we provide a service, or have to comply with a new legal requirement.

2. Services

“Services” means anything offered by Certified Fire Doors, including:


  • Enquiries
  • Inspections
  • Surveys
  • Estimates
  • Quotations
  • Installations
  • Repairs
  • Emergency Call Outs
  • Servicing
  • Guarantees

3. Terminology

  • “Us / We / Our / Certified Fire Doors” refers to Jacob Wagster, trading as Certified Fire Doors.
  • “You” refers to the customer (the person or organisation for whom we agree to carry out works and/or supply goods).
  • “Tradesperson / tradespeople” refers to the representative(s) appointed by Certified Fire Doors to carry out works.

We reserve the right to refuse or decline to undertake any works and to designate the tradesperson(s) who will represent us.

4. Pricing & Charges

Hourly Rate Works

  • Labour, including reasonable time obtaining non-stock materials.
  • Materials supplied by us.

You will only be charged for time spent directly on your works. Lunch breaks are non-chargeable. Goods and materials are subject to VAT unless zero-rated.


Fixed Price Works

Fixed prices are provided as firm costs (manifest errors exempted), inclusive of labour and materials.


  • Additional works instructed
  • Increases in material costs
  • Unanticipated works discovered
  • Manifest errors

Only written estimates signed by an authorised representative are binding.

5. Materials & Goods Collection

Collection of non-stock items is chargeable. Collection time will not exceed 45 minutes unless prior notice is given.

6. Invoices & Payment

A deposit equal to the cost of fire doors or 50% of the total cost (whichever is greater) is payable immediately. We may request full payment in advance.

Invoices are payable on receipt. Interest may be charged on overdue amounts at 4% above base rate.

Payment may be made by bank transfer or cheque payable to Jacob Wagster.

7. Timekeeping & Delays

We will use reasonable endeavours to attend as agreed but accept no liability for delays beyond our control.

8. Parking

You must provide free parking within 250 metres of the workplace or reimburse any parking charges incurred.

9. Deliveries

Deliveries are kerbside only. Goods must be inspected before signing. Fire doors weigh approximately 40kg and may require two people to move.

Fire doors must be stored in a clean, dry, and secure location.

10. Workplace Conditions

You must ensure the structure is suitable for works and disclose any safety hazards.

You must provide clear, dry, and unrestricted access to the work area and a suitable space for pre-installation works.

11. Making Good

We are not responsible for decorating, making good, or remedial works following completion.

12. Disposal of Old Goods

Removal and disposal of old fire doors and frames is not included unless stated in the quotation.

13. Cancellation

Cancellations must be made by the end of the working day before the booking. Late cancellations may incur charges for time, materials, and loss of profit.

14. Satisfaction & Complaints

Written notice of dissatisfaction must be provided within 12 months. You must allow us to inspect and remedy any issues.

15. Guarantee

A 12-month labour guarantee is provided for faulty workmanship only.

The guarantee is void where works are misused, altered, or carried out against advice.

16. Liability

Our liability is limited to rectifying our own guaranteed works. We accept no liability for defects outside the agreed scope.

17. Title to Goods

Goods remain our property until paid for in full. Risk passes to you upon delivery.

18. General

These terms are governed by English law and subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the English courts.

19. Fire Door Set Installations

Full certification is only available where all required components are installed. Partial certification may be issued where components are missing.

20. Fire Door Remedial & Repair Works

Repair works are limited to the agreed scope and do not constitute certification unless expressly stated in writing.

21. Data Protection & Privacy

Certified Fire Doors processes data for order fulfilment, safety reminders, customer support, surveys, and legal compliance.

Customer data is never sold and is retained primarily for safety and compliance purposes.

Telephone calls are not recorded.
